“If anything on this graphic causes confusion, ignore the entire product.”
Welp, that makes my life less stressful .

Does the Ramblin’ Wreck float?

My parents have a house on the outer banks. I’ve been watching the web cams. People are still swimming in the ocean!

CLP5 what are you even doing?
![]() 09/12/2018 at 15:46 |

You’re on the “good side” — less water and the winds are about 20mph slower than on the other side of
the rotation.

The right side (based on direction) is the so-called “dirty side”, with the highest winds and worst destruction. So it looks like you will be spared that. That’s also were the heaviest rains are. So unless it follows that big swing to the south, you may miss the worst of it.

Well fuck. For once, I hope it follows the EECF/EEMN model. Because that’s probably the only one that doesn’t result in more miserable rain here.

I hope its not ‘had a house’.
I really hope those homes are spared, but if this keeps it’s trajectory that barrier islands are going to take a beating.

This chart is very complicated for my simpleton brain. All I want to know is - can you confirm if this will be Tremendously Big, Tremendously Wet?

Hampton Roads is effectively shut down tomorrow and Friday. We had mandatory evacuations. Now while I get mandatory evacuations and playing it safe, hell Norfolk floods during a thunderstorm, I’d be pretty irate if I packed up, headed out and we got a drizzle. It does look like everyone’s going to get a pleasant 4 day weekend though.
Also how, the number of people buying generators Monday and Tuesday at Lowe's was unreal. In the 20 mins I was there I saw no less than 50 in carts. Hopefully they know they can return them if they've filled them.

ATL is still likely to get 40+mph winds it looks like. Not crazy, but enough to put a lot of the big pines and oaks on the ground.

Oh, son of a bitch, Florence, SC will get to meet Hurricane Florence face-to-face after all. Looks like we’ll be getting the dirty side as well.

Remember that if you have a battery backup for your computer that it can be used to charge things or run a light.
